Before my doctoral studies, I was an editor and administrator at a national nonprofit research and service agency, WestEd, where I created marketing materials, policy briefs, webpages, and grant proposals. At WestEd, I worked with Karen Kearney on the Leadership Initiative, developing resources for K-12 school leaders and policy makers. I also worked with the Comprehensive School Assistance Program, where I collaborated with Pam Spycher on pedagogy and policy for K-8 English Language Learners.
At WestEd, I also carried out administrative work, communicating with other programs within WestEd, organizing professional conferences, and working with financial analysts on budgeting.
I am also an avid photographer, and I use my own images to design various media (here is a poster I made recently for a graduate student conference at University of Michigan).
